Scott Kirkland has built his business on one thing – relationships. He started his career doing this as the Director of Guest Services for the Portland Trail Blazers. He has personally owned over 27 residential homes in the last decade and has been a developer for Urban Sky Development. Scott is the managing partner of Root Mortgage. He continues to educate and help clients with their financing needs.
With over a decade of experience in financial management, business development, strategic growth, and IT/project management, Reza is an experienced financial professional with a passion for affecting change in the mortgage industry. This passion drives Reza to ensure Root is positioned to serve consumers at the highest levels; giving consumers from all walks of life the opportunity to pursue their homeownership dreams.
Robert was born and raised in the Portland, Oregon. For the past 12 years, he has been globetrotting as a professional basketball player. He learned many lessons along the way about communication, money management, and performing in high stress situations. He learned the importance of genuine relationships and this prepared him for his transition to becoming a mortgage advisor.
For the last 25 years, Riley has served in relationship-building roles in the fields of film, music, marketing, finance, craft beer and real estate. Each of these positions had the same goal in mind: Build successful partnerships with each client based on trust and education.
Eric’s passion to help people has drawn him to the mortgage business, and through education and working with clients, he hopes to teach individuals about good debt vs bad debt to help them obtain their financial goals.
Taking on the largest debt of someone’s life can be stressful and Eric strives to alleviate that stress and make the process as simple and enjoyable as possible.
Prior to working in the mortgage business, Eric worked as a banker for Chase Bank and was the Operations Director for NBCC. In Eric’s downtime, he loves spending time with his family especially having game nights. Eric also has a passion for Cars and can often be found under the hood of his vehicle or at the race track.
Dave was born in Wichita, Kansas. Raised by parents with careers in home building and real estate, Dave has been around real estate for decades. He has dedicated himself to serving others through entrepreneurial ventures, volunteerism, retail management, and 30 years at United Parcel Service all which have prepared him to serve his clients effectively as a Mortgage Advisor.
Ross enjoys working with people and loves the feeling of helping someone navigate the process towards buying their new home. It can be a complicated, stressful, and scary experience for borrowers, and if he can help his customers enjoy the ride while achieving their homeownership goals, it’s extremely rewarding for him.
Clint is a results driven individual who received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and MBA in Marketing from the University of Oregon. When not closing loans, Clint dedicates time to being a soccer dad for his three amazing kids and building a better community. Clint is a Past President of the Clackamas Rotary Club who believes education is the key to our future.
Juha began his mortgage career with GMAC mortgage in 2003. He is a consummate professional, admired and respected among his peers. He prides himself in providing superior service and really enjoys developing friendship relationships with his clients. “Under promise and over deliver” is his motto!
Stuart’s roots in the Pacific Northwest go deep. He moved to Portland back in the 80s, went to high school here, and attended Reed College.
He believes home ownership is one of the best investments you can make for your family. “My boss told me I should buy a house in 2002 and it was great advice,” he recalls.
Stuart brings years of prior experience with the financial industry and investment properties to his mortgage clients.
Chad was born and raised in the Portland, Oregon area and love the Pacific NW. Being self-employed most of his adult life has taught me to manage time, expectations and accomplish the task at hand with communication and integrity.
Chad believes that home ownership is a great accomplishment and can open many financial possibilities. His goal is to make the home buying process smooth with communication and education to help you achieve your home ownership goals.
René is an educator at heart. As a public servant for 18 years, serving as a public school teacher, assistant principal, and principal, his desire to work with Root Mortgage was as clear as its mission: cultivate relationships, educate clients, and offer exceptional service. These attributes resonated with his determination as a public school educator and continue to this day, now shifting his advocacy towards you.
Gina has always been a numbers person. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Portland State University. During her years in school, she worked closely with a CPA to guide clients through their annual personal and business returns. Gina has a passion for helping people and plans to do just that while helping clients obtain their financial goals.
Born and raised in Oregon and blessed with growing up on a small hobby farm, has taught Erin that hard work and dedication pays off.
Erin began her mortgage career with US Bank in 2013 as a loan processor. Her experience, knowledge, and dedication to her team have launched her career onto a new path as a Loan Partner with Root Mortgage in 2018.
Erin lives in Boring with her husband Pat, on their small homestead where they are instilling the same values and work ethic in their two young daughters Ava and Ella. She also enjoys weightlifting and scouring antique stores for treasures.
Raised in the beautiful Pacific NW. Heather started her career in Banking in 2003 – and went to Commercial Lending in 2010, eventually finding happiness in Residential Lending in 2015. It has become a passion of hers to help people with their home buying experience.
In Heather’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids. She loves being outdoors and exploring new places to eat.
Lyllian started her career in the mortgage and real estate industry back in 1999 learning the ins and out of the homebuying process through the lens of an entrepreneur. She strives to serve her clients by doing the heavy lifting, so her clients can go back to what is important in their lives. Having owned her first home at the age of 19 she cannot stress the importance of investing early. After a heart to heart with Lyllian you may find yourself wanting to take the first step towards home ownership or expanding your wealth in real estate which she believes to be the most important investment of one’s life. Not only in terms of building equity, but also stability and security for your family. She is experienced and can present options for your home financing needs, whether it’s to consolidate debt, improving cash-flow, to purchase the special home, or invest in another.
Kelsey oversees the entire process and her goal is to ensure your loan closes on time. She will verify your application, send payment options, and gather the initial items required to complete your application. Kelsey will also be available for your questions throughout the loan process.
